Work experience

In 1990 I started my career as a tax consultant in the general tax practice of Deloitte & Touche in Rotterdam. I have done a variety of activities there, particularly for large corporations, and I developed my preference for the international practice. In 1995 I switched to Arthur Andersen to further specialize in this area. At Arthur Andersen, I focused primarily on cross-border structuring, the development of financial products, IPOs (coordinated from a tax, legal and financial perspective), advice on financial products, including cross-border leasing and securitisations, and initiating various structured finance projects.

I co-founded TAXci in September 2000. Within TAXci I am involved with the international practice in all its facets, from assisting foreign companies in structuring, establishing and maintaining their Dutch subsidiary, permanent establishment or Representative Office, to providing advice and opinions in the field of international reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing and tax aspects of cross-border employment. I regularly give internal and external training and presentations on the aforementioned topics.

Education

Education: in 1995 I graduated as a tax lawyer at the University of Groningen. After that, I completed the professional training of the Dutch Board of Tax Advisors (NOB) and I followed various internal and external courses and training courses, including in the field of American tax law, financial products, transfer pricing and various, more practice-oriented, trainings and courses.
